Twenty-three-year-old Jamie Roche, whose fashion credits include Abercrombie & Fitch and John Smedley, was spotted by a talent scout – literally walking down Oxford Street in London.

Just a few years ago he was an aspiring but unknown actor. Today he is a seasoned underwear model on

.

“When I was young there wasn’t a lot of me, I was tall and lanky. I started modeling professionally three years ago and love the work, mostly for menswear, swimwear and fashion shows. I’ve also worked in America and I’m booked for a shoot in the Caribbean in the new year,” he says.

“But my ambition is to act in films. I have a BTEC National Diploma in drama and I’ve just started my first presenting job for Rocks TV. I have been chasing this dream since I was 11. When I went to college I did performing arts and I love the idea of presenting because it’s so ‘real’.”

Meantime Jamie joins models John and Mickey as

spokesmodels for key brands such as Bruno Banani and Bjorn Borg.

founder Adam Davies is delighted with Jamie’s debut: “We looked for a long time for another model because we wanted someone very different – different height, body shape, everything. We use them all regularly and they wear our products, so they become underwear and swimwear connoisseurs. They give us the first feedback on new ranges.”

Jamie, John and Mickey will soon be testing and presenting the 2009 collections of men’s underwear and swimwear selected by DGU — some will be arriving before Christmas.

And we’re told that Jamie is a boxer briefs man!
