Former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin graces this month’s cover of Out Magazine. While he himself is straight, the love for his gay brother has inspired the football great to become a staunch opponent of homophobia. His goal: to make society a safe place for gays and lesbians and the sports arena a safe place for out athletes.
“I want to have a voice to speak about them,” says the Hall of Famer known as The Playmaker. “When a guy steps up and says, ‘This is who I am,’ I guarantee you I’ll give him 100% support.”
