It looks like there’s a new racing Speedo on the block. Olympic swimmers Christian Von Lehn, Fabio Scozzoli, and Rafa Munoz dried off long enough to model Speedo’s Fastskin3 Swimsuits at the collection’s launch in London this week. Engineered for higher performance this will be the go to gear for the 2012 Olympics. If they gave out medals for sexiness, these studs would all be taking home the gold.

NY Lifeguard Fired Over Speedo

This has been a tough summer for the Speedo. First we reported that the appearance of a pair at a UFC match caused an uproar. Now it seems the refusal to wear one has cost a veteran Long Island, NY lifeguard his job.

You see, the Empire State requires the shoreside protectors to wear Speedos while taking their yearly fitness test. 61-year old Roy Lester refused and was fired for it.

“I won’t wear a Speedo, no more than I would walk around in my underwear,” asserted the sheepish sexagenarian, “and I’m not going to walk around in my underwear!”

The story gets a little confusing when it’s revealed that lifeguards do have an option of wearing state-issued board shorts if Speedos are not their bag. That wasn’t good enough for Roy. He demanded to wear jammers, which are not regulation. Not budging on what would cover his bulge, he was let go. But being a lawyer by day, Roy is now suing for age discrimination.

Is Roy just being stubborn? Litigious? Say what you will about this Speedo-hating suit seeker, but make sure to check out the local news video. ‘Cause this old guard still looks jammin’ in his jammers.
